Hi all -
I am putting together an AG related basket to be raffled off at my daughters' elementary school fall festival. It made me wonder: does AG ever donate things like merchandise or a gift certificate to schools? We've got the doll, but it would be wonderful to get an extra outfit or gift certiciate for an outfit if we could.

I got a Marisol doll donated to my DD's school auction last year. There is an area on the website dealing with this. You need quite a bit of time, however, something like 90 days to get the process completed. AG sends you a letter and you have to fill out an application. They like to donate to causes that will benefit groups of children in the target age range rather than just individual children (like someone with cancer, etc.) so your school auction or raffle would qualify. You could request sets of books, a Bitty Baby, a Hopscotch Hill doll, an AGOT or a historical doll. They didn't have outfits on the list. Our Marisol raffle went very well and a wonderful girl won it. She was so excited! They will only donate to your organization once every 3 years. Check out the AG website for more details.
Here is the paragraph from the website. You need to call American Girl Corporate Office to request the application:
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Charitable Donations: American Girl donates its award-winning dolls and books to schools, libraries, and other children?s organizations seeking product contributions for raffle and auction fundraisers. To date, the company has donated hundreds of thousands of dolls and books to nonprofits throughout the country. American Girl also has liquidated several million dollars worth of children?s clothing through Kids in Distressed Situations (KIDS), an organization that partners with many of the leading toy and apparel manufacturers to assist children in need throughout the world.
they donated a Kit doll to my friend's auction at her children's gradeschool about 2 years ago.
